Biography* | Name shown as Marcus Calmes Richardson. Its possible "C" was misunderstood as "D" at some point. Sallie Scott Richardson's DAR papers say Marquis D. while the "Richardson Historical" newspaper calls him Marcus Calmes Richardson. Probably the latter is correct. Vol 50 p 141 (1952) Kentucky Historical Society Bulletin includes Marquis D. Richardson in marriage and deaths published in Frankfort, KY newspaper "The Commentator." |

DAR certificate in MVW file 6-98. After the death of her husband at a young age she lived with her daughter Jane Piatt Blakely at "Beechwood". Her daughter predeceased her, and she then moved to live with her brother in Nicholasville, KY. According to Jane Blakely Woodrough, she never really approved of her son-in-law Stephens Blakely. She felt her daughter could have done better. Jane Blakely Woodrough remembers her grandmother Sally Scott Richardson telling about herfamily's relationship to Jefferson Davis. |
