Here are ancestors further back that I have not added as of 2003. Pryor Green Pusser was the son of David Purser, (1797-1832), and Anna Mullis, (1802-1870). David was the son of John Purser, (1757-1824), and Susannah Cuthbertson. John Purser was the son of Moses Purser, (abt 1725-). Moses Purser was the son of Robert Pusser ( abt 1673, VA-aft May 10, 1733 in Beaufort County, NC), he married Patience Leigh. A possible father of Robert is a Robert "Piscer", age 44, who arrived in the Jamestown Colony aboard the "Safety", which sailed from London on August 10, 1635. This "Piscer" was most likely "Pusser", owing to the spelling habits of the day. Other possibilities are a Thomas Purser who arrived aboard the ship, "Tristram and Jane" in 1637, and a George Purser was in Virginia by 1637. Pryor's grandfather, John Purser, served in the Revolutionary War in Captain Polk's Unit of Light Horse. There are many marriages between the Pursers and Hollands, only wish we could get the relationships straightened out. Here's just one example, Pryor's son by his first marriage, Green Purser, Married Sarah J. Holland, (10/11/1870-6/228/1961). Green's full sister, Martha Jane Purser, (8/11/1862-10/221/1915), married Sara J. Holland's brother, William W. Holland, 2/20/1858-1/28/1944). We would love to know just how all these Hollands are related, one to another. Just knowing John Jasper Holland's birth place would be a big help. Thanks again for all your help, Kent Pusser
Margot, I have some information on line; but this is not a direct line for me. Kent Pusser had just sent me an email to verify some information so I was adding to what I had online and came across this data. I have updated my online data to include anything new that I came across so it should show in rootsweb and ancestry within the next couple of days. My Miller family connects with the Purser/Pusser family; my grgrgr-grandmother was a Metcalf and her mother was a Purser which connects to John Purser & Susannah "Beloved" Cuthbertson. Their son David's son, Pryor Green's son Green Purser married Sarah Valary Holland which connects to your data. Holland. Do you know any more? What is your connection to the Hollands and specifically to Jesse J. Holland? He was quite a character. Are you interested in knowing more? Margot
