| Death* | 1 February 1917 | He died on 1 February 1917 at GA at age 88 I go with the date of February 1 from the tombstone as the death dertificate came well after the fact of death.2 |
| CENSUS1850* | 1850 | He appeared on the CENSUS in 1850 at Pulaski County, GA.5 |
| CENSUS1860* | 1860 | In 1860 In 1860 he is living next door to his father, James with children John 8, Sarah 6 and Eliza E. 4. There is no wife shown on the census. In my opinion, the two year old Charity living with James is likely a child of Moses. A good guess would be that Charity's birth was the cause of the death of Mattie Peacock. Probably Moses entrusted the youngest child to his father James as James had two adult women in his household capable of caring for an infant. |
| MILITARY* | 4 September 1865 | He served in the military on 4 September 1865 CSA 49th Co K. Reg.2 |
| CENSUS1870 | 1870 | He appeared on the census in 1870 at GA; He lived next door to widower Daniel Dykes who had a four year old child named Moses. Moses apprently was taken in by Elizabeth Bryant (Holland) and Polly her sister who apparently adopted the surname of Dykes although I'm told that neither married a person named Dykes. |
| CENSUS1880* | 1880 | In 1880 In 1880 this family lived just two doors from the Bryant ladies, Margaret, Jane and Artipe.6 |
| CENSUS1900* | 1900 | He appeared on the census in 1900; There is something peculiar here. The 1900 census shows Moses and Mary being married for 26 years and having eight children all of whom lived. In fact Mary had nine children and was married longer that 26 years if you believe previous census and marriage record in Pulaski County. |

Prunella Holland

| Burial* | | Prunella Holland was buried HERBERT CEMETERY Traveling 84 Hwy. from Evergreen to Andalusia, You turn left on County Rd. 63 at Herbert Volunteer Fire Department. Herbert Church and Cemetery can be seen from that intersection. Lawson G. Hudson Sept. 13, 1833 July 8, 1880 "Gone but not forgotten" Perennial E. , wife of: Lawson G. Hudson May 3, 1837 Oct. 28, 1881 "She was a kind and affectionate mother and a friend to all."1 |
| Birth* | 1840 | She was born in 1840 An e-mail from Ralph Campbell stated that his great great grandfather was Lawson G. Hudson who married Prunella Holland born in 1840. He said Prunella was daughter of James and Charity Holland. I've found no evidence of this yet, but am including this in case I do. I am descended from James Holland and Charity Barefoot. My Greatgrandfather Lawson G. Hudson married Prennila or Prunella Holland and her sister Marcella married Walker Hudson, Lawson's brother. I have done a lot of research and I think James and Charity seperated about 1840. I have traced Lawson and Walker Hudson to Oldtown in Conecuh County, Alabama in 1860 and 1870. In the 1860 census Charity is living with Henry Holland and his wife Nancy and she is 70 years old, I think it was mistakenly entered as 70 when it should have been 60.Then in the 1870 census she is living with Lawson and Prunella and she is listed as 70. I also found James Hudson married to Louisa M. in the 1860 census of Pulaski County, Georgia, but then in the 1870 census he is single again and living with twin daughters Mary and Elizabeth and Charity Hoolland 13. Do you agree with this reasoning? Please let me know. Ralph Campbell
The Henry Holland looks like this family could have been the Hollands from Sumpter County Georgia who also had a Charity. I think the 1860 and 1870 Alabama Charity are two different people.

Perenial Holland who married Lawson Hudson was a daughter of Jethro and Charity Holland of Sumter Co. I am descended from their son Henry. To add to the confusion of two Charity Hollands, Jethro had a brother James Holland in Sumter about the same age as James Holland in Pulaski. They were from NC, not SC, however. |

Bob Nobles My cousin married Nell Lamb married a George Holland and I followed his name out on my Family tree maker as far I could go. He was the son of Rasmus J "Bud" Holland and Mattie Me Bellflower. And Rasmus was the son of Abaslon Holland. Then its Elisha Holland ((1810-1871) and Margaret Bryant (1816-Unknown) and then I believe its Lewis Holland (1777-1836) and Sarah Davis with no dates.(2006 - the Lewis Holland connection has be completely disproved.
